The Bedwell Company was awarded a contract by Chester County to provide several major renovations and to construct new facilities to enhance the counties Waste Water Treatment Plant which services the Chester County Prison, the Pocopson Home for the elderly, the Youth Detention Facility, and various other county administrative buildings.
The project scope included the demolition and replacement of the existing waste water holding basin which distributes the treated effluent through a series of piped zones that are used as irrigation for the surrounding hay fields. The replacement basin included concrete retaining walls 1680 feet long and 16 feet high with a capacity of 3.5 acres of waste water at a depth of 13 feet.
Other improvements included the construction of a screen/grinder building, replacement pumps and controls, renovations to the remote pump station and the installation of roadways, landscaping, and fencing to complete the site |
