In addition to renovating the interior of the existing Bala Cynwyd Middle School, two additions of approximately 48,000 square feet were also constructed. Overall, the renovated square footage excceded 120,000 square feet. All work on this project was completed while school was in session.

The first addition consists of two stories, with a cafeteria/kitchen area on the lower floor and a new gymnasium and locker area on the upper floor. On the main level of the second addition an Information Center was added while science and art classrooms were added on the lower level. A paved patio was included as part of the first addition and a courtyard was infilled as part of the second. Bus loops at the school were also renovated to further separte bus and vehicular traffic while improving pedestrian travel routes.

Work on this project involved reconfiguring many of the classrooms to fit Lower Merion School District's prototype classroom size. The renovation work also invloved new mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life safety upgrades. Two ADA complient elevators were added to the existing school. Landscaping to compliment the new and existing architecture was also completed, as was the installation of a new storm water management systems.
