New Delaware County Prison

This project involved construction of 14 new prison buildings including support/administrative and inmate housing units with renovation of the existing female prison and associated support building. The capacity of the new prison is approximately 1,000 beds. The work included 7 housing units with inmate cells and integral classroom, video arraignment, medical facilities and support facilities consisting of kitchen, laundry, medical and dental suite, judges' chambers, booking, line-up, visitation areas, inmate holding and segregation areas. The construction included precast concrete, structural steel, detention furnishings, barriers, detention doors, frames and hardware, detention glazing, security fencing, with other specialties and finishes. Bedwell performed 30% of the work with our own forces.
